Machu Picchu
Despite popular belief, traveling and vacations aren’t’ just for relaxing and sipping cocktails. Being stuck behind a desk and an LCD most of my days, I like to use my time off to get outside — and usually in over my head. Recently, I’ve had my eye on an Inca Trail running adventure. The 8-day, 7-night trip to Machu Picchu is quite possibly the ultimate outdoor experience. You’ll spend 2 days in Cuzco (10,909 ft.) seeing the sites, then take off on the Inca Trail for 4 days. The expedition team has support for all paces — you can run/walk or hike the trail. The only requirement is that you must have completed a trail 10K (6.2 mile) or similar activity prior to the Peru trip. Come to think of it, 28 miles in 4 days sounds kind of rough. Hmm. Maybe it’s not so bad here in the Aeron.
