The Future is in Teleportation
No, take that “beam me up scottie” idea out of your head. Think vaguer and more conceptual, think first classier, think magically appearing with all your lifestyle necessities in the seaside bungalow of your dreams in an instant, and then back to your crazed minimalist modern uber-urban penthouse, only to pop back off to your favorite hotel suite for the next big design event, shopping extravaganza, or business meeting.
The biggest problem with running my own company, hasn’t been figuring out HOW to get places, in fact, i traveled far more before i found myself wrapped up in NOTCOT… ironically NOTCOT spawned out of all that travel, and constant exploration and bouncing between cities and collecting experiences and obsessions with gorgeously intriguing goods of all shapes and sizes. The most priceless thing today is TIME. Between rush hours, waiting at gates, trying to get through security… my day dream priceless travel experiences would all be possible if that could all somehow be skipped… and where would i go?
Well, if i were to leave today, i’d run back to Milan in a week or so, relaxing a bit up on the edges of Lago di Como before the madness of the Salone International Furniture Fair and all the associated design events around the city popped up, then off to Madrid to catch up on their design scene, with some pit stops to London and Paris to catch up with friends before landing in NY for the month of May to play for a little while, only to then come back to Los Angeles and hide out, recover, and settle back into why LA will always be home. Funny thing is, that was *supposed* to be the plan the next few months, until business took over and i ran out of time and had to prioritize, if only *someone* would swoop in and make these priceless dreams come true… and figure out that teleportation technology already!
