It would be incredible to have a dozen talented friends together for a long weekend on a quiet tropical island, on the beach in a compound of Nomad Yurts, fully wired with the fastest possible wifi, and all the equipment we could possibly dream of (from cameras, to computers, to video cameras, a rapid prototyping machine, a vinyl cutter, a wall of monitors, a full kitchen/chef… basically any and all tech anyone could want/need). The dozen might be composed of: a visual artist, a programmer, an architect, an industrial designer/3D renderer, a fashion designer, a novelist, a user experience philosopher, an environmental engineer, a child, a glass blower, a film maker, and a photographer (and the chef would make it a baker’s dozen, since s/he would be part of the necessary unlimited resources to fuel the creativity).

Imagine leaving the group to their own devices for a full 72 hours, faced with one challenge… to collectively… relax, have fun, and explore what their dream projects would be, collectively pick one, and not only execute it, but also document the process along the way. I suppose my ideal art experience would be taking people who have made it far in their careers as creatives, and clear their heads of projects for clients, and see what they could come up together with no external restrictions… the act/process of creation just because the idea moved them. Idealistic? Probably… but i was asked what my “ideal art experience” might be!
