We were on line behind a woman and her little boy at the corner candy store. She purchased 2 packs of cigarettes and a pack of gum. The little boy picked up a piece of candy and put it on the counter. The mother said “Put that back, we don’t have enough money for it”; the boy did what he was told. The man behind the counter reached over, picked up the candy, gave it to the little boy, and said “He can have this; it’s my treat”.
2 packs of cigarettes $8
1 pack of gum $ .50
The look on that little boy’s face……priceless.
True story.
