Warm Oatmeal for Breakfast

My ideal food is a warm bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. Sure, other foods are far more interesting and have more striking flavors. Given the choice between a rib-eye steak and oats heated in water, there are not many who would choose the latter. But, where oatmeal plays its tremendous advantage is in its customizability and longevity. By adding virtually unlimited combinations of nuts, fruits, sugars and other sundry delights, a bowl of oatmeal becomes a chameleon of flavor. I can’t eat a steak every night for dinner (although I’ve tried), but I am perfectly happy eating my personalized, user-generated, web 2.0 mashup of oatmeal every day for breakfast.
